New Orleans Rotary Fund, Inc. (NORFI)About the New Orleans Rotary Fund, Inc.The New Orleans Rotary Fund, Inc., established in 1970, is funded by fundraising activities of the New Orleans Rotary Club. Once a year, NORFI, as it is known within the club, makes grants to area nonprofit organizations for items ranging from computers to folding chairs. Typically, NORFI does not make grants to operating funds, instead preferring to fund capital purchases. Applications are accepted during January of each year. Award letters are usually sent out in May. Recipients are asked to come to one of the Rotary club’s weekly meetings to receive their grant check and tell Rotarians about their organization. Over the years, NORFI has supported a broad spectrum of local nonprofits, including Kingsley House, Lighthouse for the Blind, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, WYES and Junior Achievement.
